(AUSTIN, TEXAS) – Alfred Hitchcock, the official rooster at Utopia
Animal Rescue Ranch, has a lot to crow about these days!!! First Lady
Laura Bush and First Dog Barney are coming to Austin, Texas to have
lunch with us and to show their support for our ranch and animals!
Kinky Friedman, the Gandhi-like figure of the Rescue Ranch, will be
hosting the event with a little help from some very special friends.
It’s not the Last Supper – it’s the First Lunch with Hill Country
Vegetarian Cuisine served up by Chef Elmar Prambs at the Four Seasons.
The Rescue Ranch’s non-partisan pigs – Arnold, Alice, Babe, Lucy, and
Ricky Ricardo - are already squealing with delight! Our two donkeys,
Roy and Gabby, are kicking up their heels. Our elephant (we don’t
really have an elephant – yet) is loudly and proudly trumpeting “The
Eyes of Texas!” Our fifty-three dogs are very excited that Mrs. Bush
and Barney are coming. They can’t believe the adventure upon which we
will soon be embarking (Get it?) They can’t wait to attend the biggest
treat in Texas since Dr. Pepper.
In four short years the Utopia Rescue Ranch has adopted almost five
hundred stray and abused animals and placed most of them in loving
homes. Our motto is: “Money may buy you a fine dog, but only love can
make him wag his tail.”
