Lucky's Story

picture of a very lucky kitty

Lucky was rescued by Kinky, and his friend, McGovern over two and half years ago. They were driving to Kerrville when Kinky saw something beside the road. They stopped and went back and found an approximately 8 week old kitten who had been shot in his front leg and near death. As Kinky says, "Shot by some great White Hunter." They rushed the kitten to Dr. Hoegemeyer in Kerrville and the kitten underwent immediate surgery. When Kinky brought him home to recuperate the kitten slowly began getting stronger. Kinky had named him Morgan. Unfortunately for Kinky, it was time for him to leave for his book tour. Nancy agreed to take the kitten and nurse him back to health while Kinky was on the road. Kinky and Nancy decided to change his name to Lucky because Kinky had rescued him and they knew that this cat would never have anything bad happen to him ever again.

Kinky was gone longer than planned and when he returned, Nancy took Lucky back to him. Lucky for Nancy and not so lucky for Kinky, the cat had bonded with Nancy and all of her animals and Kinky realized that Lucky missed Nancy and her many animals. So, Lucky was returned to Nancy. So now Nancy says she is lucky.
